10 must-have apps for Fashion Week

Vogue.fr's Butterfly app

While waiting for the Vogue Paris October issue, which hits newsstands September 25, fashion fans can take a sneak peek at some of the pages on the Vogue.fr Butterfly iPhone reader. With interactive contents page, content that can be read in text or pdf formats, smart zoom for articles and images, and direct access to Vogue.fr and social media feeds, the app is updated regularly to allow users fingertip access to monthly content from all sections of the magazine. Just the thing to while away the waiting time between shows.

Instagram

Whether you're sitting on the first, second or third row, one of the principal occupations at any show, besides chatting to your neighbour, is snapping all the runway looks. But, what with all the movement, lights and that Maison Michel hat on the front row in your frame, even your best shots are often blurry and unfocused. To smooth over these little faults every fashionista in the know turns to Instagram, which has the power to transform any photo into a retro-style snap in seconds.

Chauffeur privé

Vogue.fr's official chauffeur, Chauffeur Privé have their very own iPhone app. Order a chauffeur-driven car straight from your iPhone and follow its progress in real time with a single click. What's more, readers of Vogue.fr will receive €10 credit with the company if they sign up before the end of Fashion Week using the link #bonplan.

Twitter

Alongside InstagramTwitter has become a must-have for any fashion follower wanting to negotiate all the Fashion Week action. From the front row to backstage, Twitter gives users the chance to share runway moments the second they happen, meaning that smartphone owners can enjoy tweets from all the shows including Anthony Vacarello, Hermès and Balenciaga.

Shazam
If it was easy to recognize Gloria Gaynor’s I Am What I Am at the Moschino Spring/Summer 2014 show in Milan last week, or even Britney Spears’ Work Bitch at Prada and Kraftwerk’s We Are The Robots at the Fendi Spring/Summer 2014 show, it was all down to Shazam, an app that provides the title and artist behind a song within seconds.

Fashion GPS Radar

First conceived in New York for fashion insiders, not only does Fashion GPS Radar make the lives of models easier, it makes show going a breeze for invitees too. With calendar features, RSVP functionality and GPS service invitees can make their way from the Tuileries to the Halle Freyssinet runways without breaking a sweat. Better yet, this app helps smartphone users share their movements on social media sites and navigate Fashion Week all at once.

Chicfeed

Fashion week is as much about the style on the street as on the runways. Whether it's young girls posing with their hair billowing in the wind, photographers looking for the perfect pose, or meticulously planned outfits coordinated down to the last detail, an impressive array of looks can always be found on the Chicfeed app which helpfully brings together the most influential style blogs including The Sartorialist and Face Hunter.

Amble by Louis Vuitton

A social app designed especially for Fashion Week, Louis Vuitton's Amble allows you to share your favorite shopping spots  and invite friends to join you on fashionable forays in your city of choice. What's more, Sophia Coppola, Christy Turlington and André are all avid users, meaning all that's left for you to do is download it and casually bump into these style icons at none other than the Café de Flore.

Net-A-Porter

As each of the four fashion weeks unveil their new season trends, many of us are left itching to shop. When you do yield to temptation, take to the Net-A-Porter app, an interactive version of the online store which puts Marc Jacobs' stylish sweaters, Ralph Lauren's sixties dresses and Proenza Schouler's high-waisted pants at your fingertips.

Pinterest

Everybody's favorite virtual pinboard, Pinterest is now also available on iPhone. So, when you arrive at Kenzo Spring/Summer 2014, with that all-important chai tea latte in your left hand and your phone clutched in the other, you can pin your favorite looks straight to your board, and even decorate it with your own snaps taken on Instagram.
